9th January 2011 Hiking - Walking: Flatford to Dedham Wind Direction: Wind Stength: light Surf / Sea State: Air Temperature: Sea Temperature: Weather: sunny Max Speed: Distance Covered: Hiking - nearly went windsurfing on Sat as the Ray/Southend was working but I am getting over a cough,have frozen shoulder again and a dodgey knee :( also am feeling fat and unfit so will wait until the weather improves some more !!! So with good weather forescast today Mag and I decided to get the walking boots on and go for a walk at Flatford.We had breakfast by the Orwell bridge and then watched the dinghy racing at Alton water for abit and then parked up at Flatford with a charge of £2.70 :( We started walking downriver to the first sluice but turned and headed toward Dedham and soon covered the one and a half miles to the church where we found a top tea room for a quality cream tea :) We then set off around Dedham mill pool where the water was pretty wild with all the rain we have had and continued along the river seeing a heron and loads of ducks and swans :) We made it back to Flatford just as the sun was setting after four hours away from the van and I managed to get afew nice pics !!!
